quarterly, London based magazine.

Art & Music was launched in March 2008 as a free quarterly title for London’s
art and music community. The magazine is distributed to one hundred key venues
in the capital, including the ICA, Rough Trade Records and Roundhouse studios.
From October, Art & Music will be available free to all visitors to the new
Saatchi Gallery at the Duke of York’s HQ in Chelsea.
A unique publication, Art & Music taps into the very point at which contemporary
art and independent music collide and covers a gamut of feature subjects, from
interviews with heavyweight, established names to showcasing emerging talent.
With art direction from Alfonso Iacurci and regular features from a pool of
writers including Darren Hayman, Keiron Phelan, Iphgenia Baal and Helen Sumpter,
Art & Music offers a quality of writing, photography and design more readily
associated with premium magazines, and aims to bridge the gap between existing
free and newsstand publications.
Art & Music magazine offers a rich, multiplatform presence, which will inspire,
inform and promote wider recognition of grass roots trends to a mass audience.
The magazine’s in-house distribution is such that 100% of the 100,000 print run
is in the hands of its target audience, not lost on the newsagent’s shelf.
The UK contemporary art and music scenes continue to flourish, but quality
writing on both subjects remains scarce courtesy of the unfiltered internet and
largely homogenous mainstream press coverage. Art & Music has been willed to
life by this changing market; high quality, impartial, informed, seen in all the
right places…and free!
The Saatchi Gallery Magazine Art & Music editorial team comprises founders Gemma
