Closer Magazine from UK offers you the latest celebrity gossip, fascinating true-life stories and celeb diet plans. Closer truly is the only read you need! It was launched in September 2002 as a magazine about “the lives of real people and celebrities” and has really taken off since then. And the most appealing feature is that it sells for the very attractive price of £1. ‘Closer’ is a colourful and varied magazine that offers a light, non-taxing read.

Contents

In terms of content ‘Closer’ is ideal for a light read. Most importantly it is packed with celebrity gossip. There are usually four or five articles about various celebrities. ‘Closer’ also features a variety of real-life stories. They tend to be sensational and topics include crime, love, marital breakdowns and betrayals and dealing with illness.

The Closer Magazine includes sections about lifestyle. There is normally a fashion section, for example a selection of the season’s best winter skirts or party dresses found in affordable high street shops. And in case you have not yet had your fill of celebrity each week the resident fashion expert analyses the weeks fashion disasters and triumphs on the red carpet.

A beauty section catalogues the latest and best products on the market, often with a focus on which celebrity swears by what product. And ‘Make-up with Melinda’ is a page where various make-up dilemmas are solved by Melinda Messinger.

There are usually a couple of pages devoted to various diets such as Atkins, ‘The Face-Lift’ diet and even a curry diet, explaining how they work, if they work and what you can and can’t eat. Finally there is a travel section extolling the virtues of a particular destination, a recipe section and the normal problem pages and stars.

Last but not least at the back there is a fantastic TV section. It includes write-ups of the weeks TV highlights, soap updates and full TV listings. So you will never need to buy a separate TV guide again!

Closer readers can write in with their problems. Now everyone love these pages, it's nice to know you're not the only one having problems in life. There's some good advice given by Anita and Dr Mark.

Another feature everyone like in Closer is the puzzle section. This includes a cross word, Sudoku, word search, spot the difference and an arrow word, to name but a few. So there's plenty here to keep your brain going.

The Closer Magazine brings us closer to the people we look up to, and want to have some link to; we want to feel that we can be slightly similar to famous people, perhaps lifting our views of ourselves. It also makes us feel better in another way. Pointing out the negative aspects of a celebrities' life and their problems can make us feel as though we are better than them, therefore again, making us feel good when compared with celebrities!!

You get celebrity gossip, real life stories, style and make-up tips and much, much more.
