Do you agree with re-touching photographs used in magazines of women?

I feel this sets an impossible status which girls and women feel they need to achieve. Children as young as eight or nine are now wearing make up and believing that skinny is beautiful. Is this the way you want your children to grow up?
Me too.. I wasnt at all bothered what I looked like at that age, Its putting pressure on young children now to be something which is impossible. I dont believe theres nothing that can be done, something should be done to stop this. However magazines will not publish with photos which havent been retouched.. I seen a doc on it. Society nowadays..
Indigo - I agree completley. The boys I grew up with never had six packs or big muscles.. now theres 12 13 year olds working out.. I agree its not just women.
Molly - I suppose, but there are retouched pictures on billboards in town and things, on magazines on shelves in stores.. how do we sheild children from all of this?
