shoplifting asda

MoneySavingExpert.com has just posted the following message with the title shoplifting asda.

i have been in asda many times, when i do my shopping , 9 times out of 10 someone sets the alarms off everyone looks around and the security check the persons bags and receipt etc. Most of the time its just the staff who forgot or could not be bothered to de tag the items. I have seen people get caught and frog marched to the security office. My question is what happens to these people when they get caught? one bloke got caught for not scanning a item at the self checkout and bagging it the other day.
