MagCulture.com Has Just Posted the Following with the title Out now: Elle Collections S/S 2012



A new issue of Elle Collections is always happy news here at magCulture, and the new Spring/Summer edition doesn’t disappoint. The cover leads with the season’s pastels and a vivid, flouro yellow logo – the picture doesn’t do that justice.





Inside, the usual detailed design sees the introduction of several new display typefaces and a stronger mix of pace between the busier diagram/text pages and full-out colour imagery (still lifes below by Paul Zak).







A trompe l’oeil notebeook effect is used thoughout, but also a couple of the ‘chapters’ actually are printed on matt stock and trimmed slightly smaller.



I loved these shots, very unconventionally edited, cropped and combined.



And the best part? It’s FUN. The people making this magazine love their subject and can’t help communicate that. They’re enjoying themselves, working hard to find new ways to share their knowledge in a way that isn’t too serious. These little collages showing accessories are typical of this.
