And so the reality TV train steams onward but this time with the announcement of the 10 stars that will be trekking into the Australian jungle to compete for the crown of King or Queen of the jungle. The lineup includes the likes of Olympic Gold Medallist Linford Christie, Shaun Ryder from the Happy Mondays, and Playboy model Kayla Collins.
The show, presented by Ant & Dec, is now in its 10th series and pits celebrities not only against the harsh conditions of the Australian jungle or against one another but against a number of difficult challenges that must be won to ensure that the camp can eat properly during the day.
Last year’s winner was Gino D’Acampo and vying for this year’s crown will be Olympian Linford Christie, singer Shaun Ryder, X Factor runner up Stacey Solomon, former Lib Dem MP Lembit Opik, model Kayla Collins, Gazza’s ex-wife Sheryl, rapper Aggro Santos, Bond girl Britt Ekland, presenter Gillian McKeith, and actor Nigel Havers.
The series starts on ITV1 and ITV2 on Sunday night and Stacey Solomon says that she believes she will be voted to every challenge because she’s a squealer. Shaun Ruder, who is taking part in his first reality show and appearing on TV for the first time in several years, has said that he’s not bother about the challenges or the diet he is just bothered about being on television 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
